Hi Tammy,

Just wanted to say, "Welcome to Directory Assistance" and you've already made the list! Check the DA list under your name. The team thought that J-landers including "the in-betweeners" who post to AOL journals and/or Blogs, should be included in the list. The community as we have know it has just grown bigger, or as Floralilia might say, moved out to the suburbs. We're glad to know you!

There are now two directories ... Pam's (mostly AOL Journalists) and the DA List for people who in addition, or instead of AOL journals have begun to blog. Please ask if there are any questions as we go along!

Our best,

Hi Tammy, What a beautiful card. Thanks for sharing it & thanks for stopping by my journal.
I have idiopathic bilateral peripheral neuropathy. You know how your limbs feel if you lay on them crooked or 2 long? When they go to sleep? Well, that is the way my feet feel only it's worse than that. The nerves in my feet are dead or dying. I have the pins & needles feeling all the time. Plus the surfaces the feet are completely numb. Diabetics are very susceptible to neuropathy, however I'm not diabetic. Mine is idiopathic..they don't know why I have it.It's a progressive disorder. At first it was just my toes. Now it's moved up into my ankles & lower legs. But even though I am numb I have a LOT of pain. I take medicattions to treat it & pain meds. There just isn't much to do for it. I have had several surgeries on my feet for various complications of the neuropathy. I have to have an office proceedure to release a tendon that is so tight it pulls the joint up on the toe so it rubs on any shoe I wear and I'm very prone to get blisters, fisures & infections. I'm fighting an infection right now.
Both hands are going numb. I'm losing strength in them. I also have had Ulcerative Colitis for about 15 years. Which is just what it sounds like (ulcers in the intestines & colon). So without being graphic, you can imagine the symptons of an inflammatory bowel disease. Not curable either, but I am doing great with it right now but it could flare up tomorrow.
I just found blogging not long ago & mainly for the need to vent & find some new friends. So stop by anytime. I'm really pleased to meet you! I would like to know more about your ALS also. Anytime you want to talk, the coffee is on here also!!! Take care & if I don't talk to you before next week, have a wonderful Christmas.

Dear Tammy,

Thank you for your Christmas Card. I was here earlier, but was reminded to come back after seing your name over at Bon and Mal's and Vince's.

I wanted to let you know that I read through your entire blog to date. We match fairly close by age and childrens' ages. My boys are 21, 23, and 25. At least two of them speak to me :) and like yours they are all independent. I empathize but pass on the message I hear that it can be a terrible age as far as tolerance for each other. I hear this too will pass.

I've also got disabilities one of which keeps me walking or standing for periods of time. But, that's not as important right now.

I am very amazed at your spirit to withstand life's pressures. I cheered to learn of your recent marriage, and laughed some to think of wonder hubby helping you get dressed. Oh please God, be merciful! :)

Mostly, I wanted just to thank you for posting, because you are like many wonderful journalists/bloggers I've known who have reached inside me and not only tickled a funny bone, as well have struck a heart chord speaking to me by reminders God's Kingdom is rich! Thank you for being here!!

Ayn

That was a great card! Although it does seem that Santa has one wicked case of dandruff, LOL.
