Our First Snow

This is looking out my kitchen window. Yes, those are fake poinsettias left over from Christmas in my window box. They look better than dirt. lol
This is the canyon behind my house and there is a hiking trail for different views. I'll post the other pics in Flickr. Dave went out with the camera so I could see too :)

The snow is falling silently throughout our three day weekend. We were like children on Christmas morning, filled with joy at the sight. We just had a week of 70 degrees and all hopes for snow were fading, even the daffodils were peaking out of their stalks. We laughed, as big black Manny was all covered in white, little Nikki jumping like a bunny, in snow up to her neck.

As night drew near Dave built a warm fire, as we settled on the couch with our three DVDs. Oh, don't forget the big bowl of buttered popcorn and blanket to cuddle :) There is just something romantic about being snow bound.

We don't get more than six inches and it melts really quick. My sympathies to those who are dealing in feet and not inches, may your winter be safe!

Tammy - These pictures are exquisite. Oh, how I wish I was there to experience the serenity of this snow with you. I'm sure Dave would not be so happy with me snuggled between you two though...haha!
This post brought me such a feeling of warmth and comfort. Strange how the sight of snow bring me an internal warmth...quite paradoxical.
Anyways, I am thinking of you and sending lots of love.
I would love for us to communicate more...would it be presumptuous to ask to email you directly? So much to share at times, not always wanting to bare it all for the world...

Tammy,

These are beautiful pics, and like Tara, I felt like I was right there with you, on the couch with the buttered popcorn! ;p

It's been years since I've seen a real snowfall, and I'd enjoy seeing one again. I can't wait for the rest of the pics.

Ahh Tammy ... we're all in agreement your pictures are fantastic AND 3 DAY WEEKEND!!! YAYYYYYY! Of all the pictures on Flickr, think the one most settling to my eyes is the picture Dave must have tooked looking down the snowy path. That is one of my most favorite memories of childhood or ever. We lived as a cross country skiier. How I miss the beautiful white intamacy. But, this morning, you've brought it all back. THANK YOU!!!

I came across your blog by way of Sky and found I liked the visit. Such a moving post about your precious 'little' girl above. No one can really tell us what it is like to raise children, can they? I just love the views you have from your home. These are priceless!
