Self Portrait Challenge- "Resolution"

The challenge for the month of January is "How can we express our new year resolutions through photography and self portraiture?"

My first resolution is expressed in a haiga poem using my hand letting go. I worry far too much about the future and some of my control issues creep up from the past. Time is so precious and even with ALS I forget that...shame on me!

My resolution is to live in the here and now!

To see other resolutions expressed in self portraiture here

That's about all any of us can do, my dear.

I love it!!! I worry so much about the future too. So much so that I get bogged down and forget to appreciate what's right before my very eyes. I loved the poem, the music and the sentiment. Thank you for sharing!

A wonderful resolution. I'm working on the thought of "being" rather than "doing" - something that goes against my nature (or nurure??). Hope the new year is filled with good times for you and your family. I love the new profile picture with your sweet little one!

living in the here and now is the best resolution, we can all hear this again and again. happy new year to you and your family.

As my kids are little now, I want to try harder to do this as well. I am always planning ahead, but I know some day I will miss these times so much! I should never wish for tomorrow when today is so sweet.

Hi Tammy,

I'm way behind in visits to blogger friends. I LOVE the poem with the hour glass. This post, too, is quite lovely. I think time changes its meaning as the years go by. I find that I am more grateful now for each day, and for each time I see my loved ones.

Living in the here & now is the best way to live....and the only one that we can really do anything with. I should try to enjoy the good parts of my life more. :-)

First, I like your self portrait, well done!
Second, I have to do the same...I know time is precious and that today is all we have, but having ALS sometimes causes me to project too much. I have to work on that.

Bravo. Well said.

Tammy,
Your self portrait is perfect. But man, you are hard on yourself! Of course it's easy to forget to keep ourselves in the present without doubts and negativities. But you're human. And what a wonderful human at that!

Love,
Nancy
