Self Portrait Challenge- "Black & White"

Dove rolled out a campaign using models of all shapes and sizes in their underwear. This year they rolled out a campaign showing the beauty of more mature women in tastefully done nude ads. I love that they are celebrating the beauty and sexiness of real women. In my SPC I thought I'd join in by showing that a 45 year old disabled woman can be beautiful and sexy too ;)

This is me with my hubby's workshirt and boots on. I hate the perception that walking badly or being in a wheelchair takes the focus away from being sexy. I may use a walker and talk like a drunk but I'll always remain sexy to Dave because I'm a woman first.

You can submit it for their contest. I thought it was cool that they are featuring the vintage women.

Your comment today really touched me Tammy! I'm so sorry! People don't have any sense! It reminded me of how my mom used to embarrass me when I was a teen-ager but now I think she had guts! When we would go out and eat, if someone stared at us, she would stare right back at them! It makes me chuckle now to think back on it because it did happen more than once! NOW! LOOK at those sweet legs and awesome boots and on a walker and, AND SEXY!!!! You are our teacher, our inspiration, my Super Hero, Tammy! Sweet Dreams! little darling! xo(((((((Tammy))))))with much admiration!

There's walkers a plenty at the nursing home where I work, but no legs like that!!!
Totally hot, Tammy.

btw, have you seen the movie "Calendar Girls"? It was brilliant, set in England and involved older women doing a calendar to raise money for a good cause.

I agree with others. This would be another great genre for their ads. Sexy disabled women--you should submit it--seriously. You are really amazing! Of course we all know what the sexiest part of us is...

Tammy, You are the sexiest woman I know walker or no walker.I really do think you should be the spokes person for disabled people since you and I both no that sexiness is whats inside a person and not how well they walk or talk...LOve Dave

Oh, my gosh - is that YOUR Dave? How cool is that!?! What a guy! (I would be so stoked if my DH left a comment like that, but he's the strong silent type, lol - I love him though). I think Dave's right, too - if anyone should be a spokesperson, yep, it's you!

Woo hoo! Check out those gams! Lady, you've got IT - and yes, you should flaunt it - just because a woman's over forty doesn't mean she should be overlooked. Thanks for such an empowering post!

My wife was sexier when she was in a wheelchair. Sexy still when she used a walker. I guess because what was left at that time was HER: she was just bare woman. The "thing" I'd fallen in love with. No makeup, no cover. Jusr her.

Knowing my particular fondness for boots you know that my comment is sincere when I say that you are a woman, first, and a beautiful one at that.
