Poetry Thursday - "Fallen Warrior"

FALLEN WARRIOR

Our Father who art in heaven

save my fellow warrior

as she fights for her

precious life.

Hallowed be thy name

for she is in your hands

you hold the power

of her fate.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done

her faith has been tested

she stood with fortitude

heart breaking.

On earth as it is in heaven

take away her suffering

her shadowed dreams

give her hope.

Give us this day, our daily bread

for she is a mother that

has nutured a family

now in shreds.

Forgive us our trespasses

for we want her to stay

our yellow rose

another day.

Amen

Poetry Thursday had no theme this week and since a fellow warrior/blogger is fighting for her life I wrote a poem/prayer. She could use many more as the doctors have given her little hope. I'm not going to give up on her! Fight sweet Helen. Yellow Rose I can't concentrate on much else for now.
I can't seem to link with beta? http://hsatt1.blogspot.com/ Helen's blog.

I am so sorry, my precious friend, it breaks my heart. I hate to see a fellow warrior fall. I will send my prayers that whatever way she chooses, God will be with her.
I love you!

This is a beautiful prayer. Love the song as well, it makes me cry and it says it all really. I feel so frightened for dear Helen ... but your strength - and God's - is helping her I know.

Makes me very sad that you're so sad. It also makes it that much more real how damaging and scary this disease can be.
My heart is with your friend...and with you.

Love,
Nancy
