Happy Thanksgiving!

For Carly's http://ellipsissuddenlycarly.blogspot.com/2008/11/ellipsis-monday-photo-shoot-13-turkey.html I had my Dave bag a turkey. Just like his grandfather before him he got himself a big one with help from his trusty retriever Nikki.
I never knew that Dave could clean, pluck, wrap and net a turkey. What a team!

Fall has been beautiful and long this year. These apples are hanging on for dear life, for they will soon find themselves stuffed in Dave's turkey. This year it will be just the two of us, so we are keeping the meal simple.

Turkey
Stuffing w/cranberry & apples
Mashed taters
jar gravy
canned cranberry
Store pecan pie w/cool whip

Snacks are shrimps and cocktail sauce, with chips and clam dip.

I asked Dave to find something for my antique toolbox until it snows. This was truly odd to me when I saw it, but at least it's colorful. I thought it was cabbage. lol

Today we got rain! YAY! This little guy was hunkered on a branch using his tail as shelter.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

That is funny, my dad would go hunting every Thanksgiving morning and we always thought he shot our turkey, although it wa already in the oven.

I'm thankful for you and your guideing light.

That scene of the turkey hunt will stay with me all through today's festivities. ;-))))

Our tribe will not be traveling home, so we are invited to my kayaking family's table; we along with 25 others. Friends are a blessing to give thanks for.
Thank you Tammy.

Dave is a good sport! What fun! Love that shot of the squirrel. Actually, I wish we'd get rain. Love the "cabbage" plants, too! What are they? Happy Thanksgiving. Oh, you forgot the cornbread dressing! (I know, it's a southern thing.)

That's hilarious! Great photos of Dave. And that flower combo is often seen in French florist shops, so Dave is stylin' big time! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration and that the horrible migraine attack has left you in peace. Love to you, dear Tammy. xoxox

I love the hunter shots. He went to a lot of work to get that photo...probably more work than getting the turkey. Blessings to you and hope that you did not eat too much and saved some leftover for the wildlife.

Definitely like Dave's style, lol. That's my kind of hunting.

I have to save the photo of your toolbox because I have to find out the real name of those cabbage-y plants. I love them

Anyway, that is just too cute. Though I'm not sure if Dave really is a hunter even though I KNOW he didn't get that little guy.

Your thanksgiving sounded just perfect. When we talk, I'll tell ya about mine!

Love ya bunches,
Nance

Looks like we shopped..hunted in the same forest! Looks like you catch was a little larger than ours. Well, there is always next Thanksgiving. And that is cabbage...ornamental. And it is beautiful. In WI we used it in our flowerbeds. There is also ornamental kale. Togehter they are so stunning.
