Monday Photo Shoot/ OSI - Winter's Farewell

Farewell to Winter

Farewell to the white blanket

that covered my active mind in quiet

serenity

Farewell to the joy of Christmas

that sprinkled colors with loving family

sentiment

Farewell to another year gone by

that opened our eyes to power's greed and

hope

Farewell to the cosy wood stove

that wrapped me completely in its warming

peace

Farewell to the billowing storms

That made trees shimmy in rhythmic

delight

Farewell to the melting snow

that strewed diamonds on branches

glistening

In this case, all your farewells will come back and say hello soon enough.

I enjoyed the read and the photos, especially with the snow on that beautiful yellow flower!

Dear Tammy--
Beautiful photos--and I really liked your respectful, loving farewell to winter and all the joy it brings! Couldn't have any of the rest of it without winter, eh!

Love to you!

My dear Tammy, you sure know how to say what must be said. Life is full of farewells and tears. I think it's just how you look at it.
I love you my brave friend. You are thought of every night in my prayers.
Lovely poem!!

This read almost like a chant or prayer, Tammy. I love the soft rhythms and perhaps it made me reflect that I will miss those things about winter too.

Today is the first day of spring.
That's what they said on our TV.
I remember those things you tell.
Winter is gone, now green you'll see.

Childhood memories of cold and snow,
Nebraska's cold, it's like you said.
Now Texas winter's not so bad,
I shed my shovel and my sled.
..
Re you post for Saturday. My mother told me many times that I would not find a nice girl (wife to be) in a bar.
The second time around I found the love of my life, like in your future.
