Sunday Scribblings - Aging

Look a Little Closer

You will see grey hair
shining in the sun
wisdom earned though a
meaningful lifetime.

You will see a lined forehead
full of emotion
opening vertical blinds
letting me shine.

You will see crinkles at my eye's
accenting my face
quoting years of many
happy times?

You will see crevices in my smile
punctuating every word
a bright composition
of contentment.

Look a little closer at all the lines
that frame my face
a portrait of a good life
left unfinished.

Our lives are written on our faces and we cannot change that nor would we want to.

Damn girl!

You make me look like a beauty queen by your descriptions. I got grays to cover your grays and wrinkles to line your wrinkles.

I guess we're both knock outs! Only difference is, you can sure write about it beautifully!

Love you bunches,
Nance

your poem reminded me of my son's wisdom.

Hoping we will have many more 'happy' wrinkles added to our faces my dear friend! You are Gorgeous Tam! xox

Life is the only race that we do not hurry to the finish line. Beautiful poem Tammy. I do so love living...and I treat every day as a treasure.

Head bowed in silence feeling mighty humble.
Pray for a cure, act in behalf of ALS when we get the opportunity. Life is fragile.
Love to you Tammy,

You look pretty good to me. They are not wrinkles we have but character lines and show the journeys we have taken. Lovely poem.
