The Round Robin Photo Challenge-"Americana"
Our next Challenge comes to us from Cosette of Pandora's Bazaar. I'll let her explain:
Since it's just in time for Independence Day, how about Americana, things dealing with American history, folklore, or geography, something considered to be wonderfully typical and unique to American culture. Brightest Blessings,Cosette
This is Yosemite and I'm blessed to live an hour away from the entrance to this magnificent park. We can go for lunch at the Awani hotel, soak in all of its beauty and be home for dinner. We have had a picnic right beside this stream on one visit and I managed to hike (with walker) to the bottom of these falls on another. I admit I wished I could have taken a cab back, but there was no road for a cab. What a blessing to be this close to my vision of "Americana."

Tammy,
Those pictures are magnificent! I have noticed that many plein air impressionist painters often move to California just so that they can paint vistas such as these. I hope your new home is not too far away!
You do live in an incredible place and I am so glad you are out there enjoying it, walker and all!
Wow, that looks like a wonderful place! I said when we moved to Arizona that I could spend the rest of my live exploring the amazing and beautiful places in thia state(Grand Canyon, Sabino Canyon, Madera Canyon, Sedona, Falgstaff, White Mountains, Painted Desert etc.) - but somehow, it's hard to actually get out and do so very often. Good for you, actually getting out to enjoy one of the oldest and greatest National Parks!
Oh Tammy!
I have always wanted to photograph the Yosemite falls. I don't know if I could do all the walking involved however. Thank you for posting these photos, and yes, it's the beauty of America that always gets me. :) Thank goodness for cameras, and being able to hold moments like this forever. :)
How lucky you are to live so close to a scene of such beauty! I admire you for hiking to the bottom of the falls. Beautiful pictures and a great interpretation of the theme!
I loved the pictures of the redwoods! Awesome! and to live so close to Yosemite; one day soon I hope to visit there
betty
fascinating photos throughout the blog. 'woman holding on'... so amazing.
Awesome! How lucky you are to be able to partake of those vistas any day you wish! Thanks for sharing them.
I was wondering if anyone would post on Yosemite! That park is so beautiful, thanks for the trip! A true American treasure!
Love your photos of Yosemite! I haven't been there since I was 14 yrs old. I grew up in Salinas/Monterey, so not so far from Yosemite.
Aww, Tammy.
