BACK SEAT COMPANION

I had to get my 16yr old dog to the vet this morning because his leg was swollen and he could barely walk. This is me in the back seat of my friend's car, comforting my best friend Manny. He has watched over me for so long, now it's my turn to watch over him. I'm terrified of losing him! The vet said cancer or a snake bite and we won't know until the swelling goes down. Drugs have already helped with the pain. I'm praying he comes out ok!

I'm so sorry that Manny is in pain. I am hoping for the best possible outcome from the vet once the swelling subsides.

Love the slideshow at the top of your sidebar!

My heart goes out to you Tammy. I had the same experience with my dog so I know the anguish you are going through. Let's hope the vet can put things right. You take care.

i understand your fear - oh, have i been there! i lost my babies at ages 18 and 15 - the most painful losses in my life so far.
sending so many good wishes to manny - that his foot heals. wishes that it was just a snakebite. did they give him preds and an anti-biotic? i am glad you are already seeing good results. that sounds positive to me.

i tried to post a comment on the ALS advocacy post, but somehow it didn't work - so let me say that your work is so admirable, tammy. you are such an inspiration to so many. i admire you so much! good job you are doing in helping others and in assuring your own best health. your own medical journey is a record setting adventure, isn't it?
GOOD FOR YOU!!!

your garden is lovely - the haiku remains delightful to read...your poetic talents abound. i am sure the wedding will be beautiful and cannot wait to see the photos.

Thanks for the comment on my first self portrait. On my regular blog today I announced that my cat is missing. I know how you feel about your dog. Would devastated be too strong a word? Not for me and Clarkie....

Tammy...I hope Manny is ok! Last year my parents' six-month old Annabelle, suddently became seriously ill and I think the most difficult thing about it for me was that she didn't know what was going on (she slowly went blind), and all I wanted to do was comfort her. My prayers are with you and Manny.

What a sweetheart your dog is...and look at how much love you have for him! I wish dogs could live forever. And I hope Manny lives to be at least 20!

That photo radiates love.
