Self Portrait Challenge- "Online Tools"

This is how I spent my first spring weekend. My sinus infection combined with powerful steroids and antibiotics kept me in bed. All plans were cancelled except my grandson stopping by. He had been playing at the football field with his dad and uncle and smelled like a sweaty little boy who had rolled in freshly mowed grass. He walks every where but won't let go and walk on his own, yet he can say hello and I love you when holding a phone. I'm thinking he will talk before he ever walks. He cuddled up to me and passed out from his big day out of his winter cave.
I call this SPC "Spring Nap." I used my online tools to shower us in spring flowers giving the photo a tapestry effect. Yes, those are my rubber duck flannel PJ's. lol My nausea won't let me on the computer for long so I might be slow in getting to see how every one's weekend went. I can't believe how bored I was not being able to enjoy this 72 degree weather, crack a book or even blog. I could not even taste Dave's first BBQ of the season :( I'm finished whining...sorry! lol

You are so right about the tapestry effect--I'm going to have to try that myself. That munchkin of yours is such a cutie.

I'm so sorry you're not feeling well--rest and take care of yourself.

Hi Tammy,
That's such a beautiful photo! I like the flower effect, too.

You must be just miserable. I don't see your post as whining at all -- and anyway, you have my personal permission to whine all you want.

You put out such positive energy in your comments. Maybe you can feel some of it shining back on you right now.

Like p print, I hope all the love and enthusiasm and beauty you give comes right back atcha! What a lovely picture you've made.

One of my little grandsons has been saying, "What the...?" and "What the heck?" Yesterday as we were getting out of the car, he said, "WHAT THE HECK?"

"What?" I said. "What?"

"WHat the heck." he said, explaining, "We don't say 'what the Helk! That's bad to say 'what the Helk!"

His other grandmother fixed apple slices for him, but left the seeds in and the skins on. He brought them to me and asked if I'd cut off the "buds" and the "crusts." He said, "I don't eat the buds and the crusts>"

Well, what the helk, I thought, and cut them right off.

Tammy, I've just left two comments, both of which disappeared. In any event, I'm so sorry you missed the fun with your friends. But it sounds like you did the right thing by staying in and resting. Hope you're feeling better today and even better tomorrow! That grandson of yours is too precious for words. xo

I love the rubber ducky PJ's! What an adorable photo of you and your little cutie-pie - what a smart guy, talking before walking! That tapestry effect is really cool.
Hope you're feeling better soon, sweetie - sometimes it helps to let out a little whine (I've been whining a LOT and all I have is a cold, not a sinus infection...) Glad you're taking good care of you. Feel better soon! XOXO

Sinus infections SUCK! I hope it goes away fast, you poor thing.

I love "Beautiful Boy". I sing it to Wyatt... I have never heard Celine's version. Nice.

Sweet shot! Your grandson looks darling. I really miss the days when my kiddos would cuddle up with me like that. The scrolling pics are very cool, too. Hope you're feeling better. Peace.

You poor thing! I have had some really nasty sinus infections myself, and I know how they just slam you to the ground. Nausea, headache, facial pain, no appetite...yech! I hope those antibiotics will do their work soon so you'll be feeling better. The last thing you need is something else draining your energy, right?

The photo is gorgeous-I love the tapestry overlay.

Feel better soon, buddy!

Sweet Tammy,
Those sinus infections are the (clogged snot) pits. They sometimes start off small but when they rage, I understand and feel for you. (I'm prone to them from having spring and fall allergic rhinitis, but I remember the sinus infections being worse when my kids were younger because I'd catch it from them.)Spring still brings them on. I love the flowers of spring, but my nose and lungs do not take well to pollen. Feel better soon! >>>>Virtual Chicken soup, pampered foot and head massages (for those sinus headaches), and soft tissues at hand.

Dear Tammy, I'm sorry you missed the weekend but the picture of the two of you snuggled up together makes me think you probably had a really cosy time instead.

Lots of healing vibes and I best wishes. Get well soon.

Hi Tammy,
Beautiful picture-2 angels and 48 rubber duckies! I hope you are feeling better by this time. I had my first ever visit to California last week and came down with a sinus infection 2 days into the trip. Spent much of night 5 in the emergency ward of a San Francisco hospital. It still did not dampen my spirits for your gorgeous state. I would so, so , sooooooo love to be able to live in California! The scenery, climate, vegetation- all to die for! I check in from time to time here and have looked for a way to find a link to the book that you wrote. Please send a link if possible.

Take care, and get better quickly,
Maryanne
