The Fair and Two Tags

We want to try these posts with moss and fuchsias in our garden, blanketed with azaleas, we saw at the fair.

We had one of these signs made.

We had a fantastic time at the fair this weekend. I wanted to ride the upside down twirling rides but Dave had said "no way" and when I clucked like a chicken, he reminded me of our junk filled stomachs. Good point! That clown was not yelling at me, he is actually the trash can Dave parked me at. Fun photo booth shots will be coming this week with a few fun things we found.

My partner in crime Pam at http://capeandtights.blogspot.com/tagged me for 8 random things about me.

1. I'm very organized and clutter makes me uncomfortable. I'm borderline compulsive about having a clean house, just ask my housekeeper Julie. :)

2. I hate car trips over two hours and airports make me ill, yet I love to travel for vacations.

3. Gravity is not my friend. When sitting on the bed naked while dressing I look over at the mirror and see a hunched over, hairless mama oranatang with long breasts, resting on her pooched out tummy. I'm not taking that mirror to the new house! She is a cute oranatang and even has some red hair after a fresh dye job. :)

4. I watch some reality TV shows. Survivor, Idol w/o auditions, So You Think You Can Dance w/o auditions, On the Lot, Top Chef and Food Star.

5. Movie Junkie! We rent two movies by mail each weekend, go to movies once/mo and don't usually watch a movie more than once.

6. I love live musicals, concerts and poetry readings. Luckily so does Dave.

7. We are not a very social couple and don't entertain much but are fun and talkative when in a social setting.

8. I don't love the holidays...gasp! Too commercial and too many expectations.

The next tag is from Chris at http://inanethoughtsandinsaneramblings.blogspot.com/ who wants me to write about 5-10 songs that made an impact on my life.
1. Mary Had a Little Lamb- My favorite song as a child.
2. Kung Foo Fighting - heard this alot during puberty.
3. Reasons - 1st make out by Earth, Wind and Fire.
4. Michelle - I hate the Beatles but my ex loved them and named my 1st born Michelle.
5. Lady - Dave bought this to play on our first date by Kenny Rogers.
6. Somewhere - Played when Dave proposed and it's on our wedding video by Barbra Streisand.

Blogland is in its slow season with traveling bloggers so play along if you're around and let me know so I can read them.

It looks like you had a great time at the fair, and those flowers are gorgeous! I'm compulsively organized too...and it helps me a lot at work, where I have a huge caseload of complaints from all over the world!

I always love the home and garden exhibits at county fairs. I'd rather look at those and the art/craft and animal exhibits than ride the rides (I get too motion sick, which doesn't make it much fun for anyone else on the ride either, lol).

Glad you had such a good time. Can't wait to see the photo booth pics - I love those things!

The fair looks like great fun, glad you had a good time!

Gravity...aarrgh!!!

I love live musicals, too! Absolutely. Feel the same about holidays as you do, except for the family getting together, and as for the social thing...Willie and I are the same, we mostly hang together.

LOVE YOU!

Yup...we got lots in common alright. Of course our songs are different due to the connections we make with each one.
I can't wait to see more fair pics. Well they'll probably be more than fair..they'll be GREAT pics OF the fair. Forgive me, I'm wiped.
Love,
Nancy

I can't remember when I went to a fair...looks like fun! But no upside down rides for me ever, whether my stomach is full or empty!

I keep thinking I'll play the eight strange things meme, and never get around to it. I guess I think there's nothing "strange" about me - I'm sure my family would disagree!

Such fun photos - looks like you had a blast. But I want to know what the sign says! :) And Reasons by Earth, Wind and Fire is an all-time fave for me too, although not for the same "reason." The EW&F song I play to this day when I'm really upset about the state of the world is "That's the Way of the World." Somehow it makes me feel calmer.

I will email you within the next couple of days about the steps for antiquing your desk. Will you email me a photo when you have a chance, so I can see how easy or not it might be? xo

I am so glad you had a fun time at the fair! That picture of you next to the clown is actually funny! It does look like he is talking to you!
And you are beautiful, sweet friend! Mirrors aren't exactly my favorite things...

The fair looks like a lot of fun. How can you not like the Beatles?! To a Brit that sentence seems almost sacrilegious! Great facts about you!

O! Girly! YOU have soOOOoo much FUN! Wish I could have been at the fair with YOU and Dave! No, I wouldn't have rode that ride either, although I do LOVE roller coasters, but mild ones!!! and I was PO'd because sweet smiling Jes'us and ***http://www.fox.com/dance/*** Jessi were voted and judged off the show!!! I think Cedric and Shauna should have went! O! Yes, Tammy wasn't that sheer beauty when Hok danced?? and Sabra's dance wasn't too shabby either!!! Happy Week-end!!! Honey!!! xoxoxox

I loved the pictures, especially the one w/ the bears:)

Doesn't "Lady" make you feel like you should be in a candlelit bath hugging Dave everytime you hear it? (Well, in my case, it's Alexis. I don't want to hug Dave in a bath!)

Gravity hits us all. Can't wait until our fair, it is right before Labor Day and at night it is cold even in fleece - it is perfect.

I love Barbra Streisand! Do you know her song about the tigers and elephants? The kids and I used to sing it all the time.
