One Deep Breath - "Architecture"

( This arbor runs down my side yard at the new house.)

Grapevine arbor path
green leaves invite my repose
canopy of fruit
transports me far, far away
to vineyards of Tuscany
Tanka for "structure or design of something, natural or man made."
Grapevines climbing
decorating the forest
dressing fence in green

I love how this ugly, but deer proof fence has been draped by the big beautiful grape leaves. The new house's fenced area is protecting 3 varieties of grapes, nectarines, peaches, green apples, strawberries, red apples and pears. Dave plans on a vegetable garden as soon as we are there full time. He wants to learn to make cider, jelly and pies. Not to mention canning. I think I'm going to like his retirement.

It looks like you're moving to Eden! Makes for wonderful haiku.

Can I be on your Christmas list when Dave gets the jelly production going? ;-)

Thanks for tempting us with a taste of what is to come for you.

Cool, that you have such mature grape vines already. What kind and will you eat them or just make jam/jelly? How is this fence deer proof? It looks too short?

It does look like Eden. A lovely home for a brave warrior.

Dave's retirement sounds good from here, too. Canning? My address is...LOL

The arch way is beautful! You guys will have so much fun in retirement, and it doesn't sound like dad will be bored too quick!
Great poems, as well :)

The fence is 8ft it was taken from upper deck. Three different grapes, green and two purple. Previous owners made wine but we will just eat them and make jam :)

We don't even know how to care for them.

Every time I visit, I am more in awe of a few things: your writing, your soon-to-be-retirement home, and your husband. Wonderful poems. Gorgeous pictures.

Tammy...I vote yes on anything that invites our repose...what a wonderful phrase. I'm going to start watching for things that do just that. Thank you.
