3WW - "Transformation"
Deny - Smile - Uncomfortable
Transformation
Locked inside her skin
safety warms her
bleeding heart
as self doubt
festers
Uncomfortable on the outside
she turns on herself
emptying of soul
hopelessness
grows
Love is a power she can't deny
as it draws her outside
confidence builds
making me
smile

Oh Tammy. You always make me tear up.
((((((((hugs))))))))
I can see a pattern forming from all of the challenge posts. One title 'An uncomfortable Love'.
Great Job.
It's strange how heavily (pun not intended)weight can wear a girl/woman down.
It's something that I struggle with and used to win but each crash diet would leave its mark and it's so so hard
Great poem :)
Absolutely beautiful.
Very beautiful poem! Thanks for visiting my 3WW.
Visually beautiful as well as deep. Interesting when juxtaposed with the animated butterfly woman gif. Hmm.
BEAUTIFUL! All of us Moms, we just want our kids to feel happy! :))
oh yes ... this one really touched me ... you have such talent honey, xo
It's a tough issue, but I don't think there is anything in this world than can sap self confidence quite like weight.
Beautifully expressed, I like the turning on herself. It is so true.
the visual of the poem,, in combination with the words is nothing less than brilliance!!!!
I like how the shape of the poem mimics someone who yoyo diets! Excellent! Been there!
You couldn't have said it better..
This is incredible Tammy. So much happening - brilliant! :)
A poem written with love, empathy and hope ... gorgeous, xx, JP/deb
Perfect. In words and image.
Hi Tammy, I enjoyed reading your poem. It's very poignant and reflexive. I especially liked the lines:
"Uncomfortable on the outside
she turns on herself". I also liked the poem's positive conclusion.
David Mascellani.
Tammy, this is just lovely!
I too struggle with my weight, my mom is always the first to tell me - "you look fat" In her culture it is a compliment, so I take pride that she even notices me. I hope your daughter feels the love you express for her.
great post!

That is one complex butterfly! I thought all that they are thinking about is "Oh, this flower tastes nice." I had no idea they could be so existential :) :) :)
I'm such a brat;)
This was so beautiful...even visually!
Very much a tear jerking, written with soul!
Hugs Sherrie
