OSI - "Distractions" / EMPS - "Autumn Meets Winter"

Vintage Christmas tree

pulls us back to childhood

lost in memories

(Click on pictures for better look)

Pieces of treasure

hung to distract from our pain

filling us with hope

Freezing little paws

cannot distract her from bone

except for a pose

Autumn meets winter

leaves battle as strong warriors

wounded but not beat

You have captured an image that always beguiles me--snow on dried leaves. I love the embrace and the tag team exchange of it. Great stuff.

What a beautiful tree! And puppy girl. If it is a boy, I'm sorry, but she looks like a she. No one ever thought our Miniature Schnauzer was a girl as it seems most people believe all Mini Schanuzer's are boys!

The leaves as warriors is beautiful. The snow is welcome I know.

And the music suits your poetry so well - where 'autumn meets winter' especially.

Beautiful tree! Wish I could have one but there's no room in my home for a big one. And the autumn meets winter portion is lovely, too. Love the pup as well -- so cute with the bone.

Tammy :)

Beautiful photo! I was thinking about you yesterday, as the snow was falling here in Berkeley! You said a while back that you were praying for snow, and so I believe you brought me some good luck, as I was wishing for snow as well! Thanks so much for that, Christmas has come a little early for me. :)
Thanks for playing!

Hugs, Carly

I loved all of these but that last one - wow. The strength inside is what counts. And you've got it. I will echo others' lines: God watch over you and give you Christmas peace.

we are snowed in here and have been since last thursday! it will be a clear cold day today with more snow due in on wed, thurs, and fri. at some point it is supposed to mix with sleet and ice. that is something i hope to avoid! white christmas, indeed, for 2 cabin fever crazy folks!

your card was so lovely! you are always so thoughtful, tammy. wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays and sending love. :)

I seem to keep missing your posts. Damn!
This one is terrific. The haikus match your lovely pics so perfectly. Gotta say I love the pup one most of all....though I also relate to the "wounded" one too. Sorry I haven't called...have not been in a chatty mood...not at all.
Love ya always though,
Nance

That tree reminds me of one in front of my house. It never wants to relinquish it's leaves. Nice photo!

Hey Great Photos! I am a little late getting around to view photos from last week! Good job with the Autumn meets winter! Poor pups paws..some tend to do snow shock better than others :)
