Happy New Year!

My green apples are still hanging on and taste great! (Click to see)

I had no idea where the time went over the holidays. I found my computer after the holidays and there were 196 posts left unread. My Facebook was full of thoughtful "superpokes" and I had many unanswered emails. I've read Facebook, updated my blog look and Twitter. As for the 196 posts I'm afraid I can't read them all. I'll do my best, but know my comments to you are in my thoughts and heart.

We had a lovely white Christmas with my brother. Pat came early to watch over me while Dave visited his mom in a rehab hospital. She is working hard to heal that hip and get back home. The day after Christmas Dave's daughter arrived with family in tow. My hat goes off to her for the amount of energy in their three young boys. Dave and I raised girls and were not fully prepared for our rambunctious grandsons.

Two of the boys had colds so we needed to stay out of the snow. The one year old had to be watched due to walking with a wobble. The 4 year old was always on the go and the 7 year old loved the Wii's Mario Kart Brothers. Keeping them from getting bored was the agenda. We blocked up the living room, had toys, a cool tent and snacks. I hope they had fun. The 19th through the 29th seems like a blur now.

The tent took up the whole guest room and it was in front of an electric fireplace. It was just like camping. If you click on it you can see the fireplace, sort of.

Warrick was trapped like a rat but enjoyed finding ways out of our barricades.

Our frozen waterfall pond was solid enough for Nikki to walk on. Thank goodness!

The house was quiet and restored this week. Dave is on his first real vacation, but sadly he is sick. I can't go near him so I don't catch it and I can't care for him. He wants to take Christmas down but he's feeling bad and I'm objecting due to rain. A rough start to the new year but I have high hopes for a great 2009.

My TK turned 3 on the 29th. His family took him to the San Francisco Aquarium and got him a big fish tank. No pics for gramy yet. :(

My thoughts and prayers go out to Nancy's health and Joyce's family who lost a family member to ALS. Rest in peace Mel.

Oh, it does sound wonderful but quite the whirlwind. Your yard looks BEAUTIFUL in the snow! How I wish I lived closer. I'd bring soup for both of you, and you & I would sit in front of the fireplace and catch up. Here's to a wonderful new year, my friend.

XO

Your holidays must have been a whirlwind of fun, with those adorable boys! Hope you get to see TK soon and that Dave feels much better (and you don't get ill). Hoping the rest of 2009 brings you and Dave many blessings and much joy! Sad news about Mel. Much love to you and your big heart, dear Tammy. xoxox

Hi again,
Came back to tell you how much I love that snowy tree with green apples....then I looked at twitter and saw your guys made them go bye-bye! DAMN.
Anyway, I got to check out Twitter...will look into doing that on my blog. But just for you Tam. No one else cares like you do. Seriously, but that's ok.

Love,
Nance

It is good to see you back. I was a bit concerned over your absence, but hoped it was due to family pressures and not illness! It will be a good year yet, Tammy. It's the one we've got!

They look like they had fun. I have to laugh, because when the kids were little, I always had them blocked into one space or room like that! lol! Made life a lot easier-- until they learned to crawl over the couches.

Oh that tent! Looks like the boys had a magical Christmas camp-out! What thoughtful grandparents they have :)
So sorry hear Dave's been sick - I caught a few different things too, but am thankfully better now. Hope we're just getting the 'yucky' parts out of the way - and that the rest of 2009 will be smoothing sailing! Happy New Year, Tammy~XOXO
