OSI - Movement Haiku

Sunset takes the stage
upstaging winter's white touch
backdrop's on fire

Storm clouds gathering
Suffocating a sunset
trees watch with wonder

After 10 inches of snow this was the cherry on top of the day. They were taken through a window and not altered. Pictures by Dave.

Wonderful. They look like paintings. You are bearing the weather quite well.

These are lovely. The contrast between the active sky and the stationary trees is wonderful, strangely comforting. Thanks.

your phrase "suffocating the sunset" is so stark and poetic.

it made me wonder about the origin of the word > sub + fauces

meaning "under the throat" - where you grab to shut off the air off course... and isn't the horizon a sort of gullet which swallows the sun and the brightness of the day?

These are gorgous! Woe, just amazing! "Storm clouds suffocating a sunset..." Ah-
I took a drive around the Island last week w/my husband. The best shot I'd ever seen all day was walking out of a Starbucks (my camera was in the truck). I stood transfixed nodding to an oblivious security gaurd outside. The cloud formations with swivels of pink, lavender, beige and I swear purple and blue! I was stuggling with (should I just run for it)..but this vision seem to disappear with every step I took- Defiant!

"upstaging winter" is truly inspired. Just perfect with the photos, Tammy. Recover quickly from the sinus procedure.

Beautiful! I've always wanted to be a painter so I could paint the colors of the sunset :)
