This Week's Updates

Busy week filled with really great things and really bad things! I need a vacation so Dave, my dogs, a few good books and I will be sneaking off to the new house. I'll be gone Wed. thru Sat. relaxing and supervising Daves painting. LOL

Manny, my 17yr old lab's spider bite turned out to be cancer after all. I once again prepared to say goodbye to my best friend. Manny, however had a different plan. He does not want to leave me until God calls him home. The tumor has shrunk yet again and the vet said he is one tough pup! It was touch and go over the weekend trying to keep food down (thank you Dave) but he's rallied back. He will enjoy the lake :)

My gym cancelled PT in the pool and I am pissed! Money and politics will keep the elderly at home instead of using their bodies and socializing. I am moving but what will happen to my pool buddies? Dave has taken over as my trainer with weights at home. He doesn't trust me to not procrastinate :) Moi?

This is a computer painting done by my friend Pam. I met her through the ALS site and she has ALS. Before ALS struck her hands she used brushes to create beautiful art and now she has the computer. I will be keeping Pam's art at the top of my sidebar from now on because beauty is meant to be shared. I'm nagging her to blog because she is also a poet and has so much spunk and wisdom to share :)

TK Thursday's are becoming quite the workout :) At 9mos he is much more animated and heavy. He shakes his head no, he wants to patty cake constantly and likes grabbing my honker :) When he is on the ground he's off to the races looking for a place to pull up and stand. He now has two teeth and says mama and dada, but no gramy yet :(
Thank goodness for bottle time! My daughter and I are even bonding through these visits. She sees me differently as I pour my love onto TK. She brings me lunch and keeps my toes cut, a job Dave hates. We watch Tivo chick dramas and talk while watching TK.

This time he wore me out so all three of us went down for a nap. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt my daughter watching us, then she joined us putting her hand on mine. Hanky please!

I think that last picture of you and TK is my favourite of this blog. He must bring you such happiness.

But I'm sorry about your dog and the gym. These things are really important - they keep people going - I hope your pool buddies find something else to keep them active. It seems such a shame.

I love the pics, especially of you and TK snuggled up asleep together. I smiled reading your words, because Kath & I (who always locked horns) have become much closer since she's had Xander. It's quite a trip, being the grandmother, isn't it? A wonderful trip, though.

Hi Tammy,

Manny's on our mind, hugs to your husband for pushing the weights, the cuddle-baby-gramy pic is worth a million.

Hope your away time is good.

Wow, that pic of you and TK on the bed really shows what a big hunka boy he is! He's such a cutie.

I'm so sorry to hear about Manny, but glad he's fighting and sorry to hear about your PT being canceled.

Your friend's artwork is beautiful!

great pics. i am just now catching up having been away in ga. with my very ill mother. worry and sadness have also slowed me down considerably in my routine blog reading.

sorry to hear the gym canceled your pool pt. is another gym a possibility? what about an actual physical therapy office - mine has pool therapy. i know how important the pool work is, and i hope you find a place where you can do it.

i am so sorry to hear about your pup's health, tammy. :( i know how hard this is to face - my heart has been broken more than once when my darling pets had to leave me.

i read the last several posts and found the one about your hands so interesting. thanks for sharing the information and the photos. do you have a daily workout that you do with your hands? your determination is awesome as is the level of activity you have continued to maintain! you are such a remarkable woman.

sorry to hear about your lab. I see pets with cancer quite often, and its not a fair battle most times. Glad he is getting better.

I'm enjoying reading your page.

Tammy I didn't know about Manny's cancer ... I'm so sorry to hear that. But it sounds like he has plans to stick around for awhile, and he probably has a very good reason for that. Maybe you and your family need Manny to finish something with you... I send good thoughts your way, Tammy -- for you and your best friend. It is never easy to let go of someone you love so much. I hope you have many more wonderful days together.

And, oh --- your tale of sleeping with your grandson ... And your daughter --- you all are so lucky to have each other. May you continue to grow closer and closer every day. what a sweet photo, too of you and TK snuggled like two leaves on a branch.

be well.

Hey! So much going on!
Enjoy your vacation - I just got done painting - it's actually theraputic looking at these new colors.
I'm sorry to hear about Manny but wow, what a strong dog. He must love his mama much.
And your grandson is adorable. I know that when I had my daughter, I had a whole new appreciation for my mother. Your daughter is probably blossoming as a woman right in front of you. Amazing, the circles in life.
o.k. have a good time !!

Oh, that is too bad about the pool! Darn it. I love to watch the old ladies at my gym, when they do the pool workouts. What a bunch of characters! LOL

Those pics are so cute. That last one is adorable! :)
