3WW / Thursday Love

One of Dave's passions in life is gardening. The snow has not yet fallen on the dogwoods but Dave has planted a truck load of flowers and plants. We made up a list and he veered off the list by a mile. He bowed his head with puppy dog eyes and said "you know not to send me out for flowers by myself." I have no idea how many "finds" he neglected to show me but now I'm feeling no guilt in going to Target. ;) This "Thursday Love" photo is dedicated to Dave's loving hands and the beauty he has surrounded me with.

3WW glass - question - token

Why Can't Spring Stay?

Winter is gone, blooms sprout
up through fallen needles,

the folded daffodils straighten
from winter's last fall, some broken

brittle as glass, leaving but
a token few to join the awakening.

A canvas of colors, a canopy of blues
with white clouds wafting by,

forest green backdrops reaching
up to the sky, lifting their skirt's

so the sun can get by, contrasts
of light and dark, a sight to behold.

Breezes stroke the branches, brushing
off the baggage of winter's wrath,

spreading seeds to multiply, while
waking the silence living within,

birdsong serenade, beckons me
outside to live a new day.

My question remains the same,
why can't spring stay?

I want an answer to your question too! :)

Your story about Dave not being able to shop for flowers alone had me laughing: love it.

Tammy,
The breath of spring and it's newness is exhilerating. All the more reason for it to move on...before it becomes dull and mundane. ;)
Love Spring, Love you,

What a delightful ode to spring -- I wish it would stay at least one day at the moment like Becca -- it pops out and then disappears, but I know it's coming back!!

But my heart is with yours -- spring forever...please.

What a wonderful melding of 3WW and love Thursday :)

I wish spring would stay, too. My drive to work this morning brought light rain, heavy rain with thunder and lightning, pea-sized hail and sleet. Please send Dave right over with 2-3 flats of something...anything!

Also, thanks for your spring greeting.

Sending big spring HUGS!

Great poem Tammy, I'm a poet too, and I think this one 'breathes' spring. "brushing off the baggage of winter's wrath" is beautiful.
I also especially love the pics of your Maltese and husband's love affair and the music (used to sing that song). lots of synchronicities, not least of which is finding you on Bella's blog, where I love to visit,

The attention to detail and of course love involved in gardening are not unlike caregiving skills. Somtimes life itself demands a gardener's touch.

K. can't be trusted alone in the garden dept. either - but then, neither can I, lol - we have to go together and keep one another in check.
I wish spring could stay too - I love the in-between seasons, spring and fall, the best.
Love the poem, Tammy~XOXO

Your blog is so full of beauty, just like the flowers that Dave so carefully tends to and the spring poem. So glad the snow is finally going away!

we are just like dave. we promise we will buy NOTHING else - we have run out of space to plant it! yet, we both have continued to buy new and beautiful plants. now that space is truly limited after 4 years and thousands of dollars of purchases, we may have to keep our word! otherwise we will be gardening in our neighbors' yards! LOL

I only have one comment...how is it you keep getting YOUNGER looking in your photos? What do they have in the air and water in your new place and can you bottle it?

I am the Black Angel of Death to plants, unless they are plastic;)
