Thursday Love - Shutter Sisters

This is a pictorial of a typical day between Nikki (9) and my husband Dave. This is a very unusual relationship because when I met Dave he had to get past the fact he was falling for a woman with a little yapper dog. He was a dog lover but if they didn't retrieve ducks, sleep on the floor and stay low maintenance he would not have had one. Then he met Nikki, who sleeps in the bed, gives kisses and needs a lot of care.
She fell in love with him very quickly and used every cute look she could muster to win his heart. She got him hook line and sinker over time. I even feel excluded from them as he pours his affection on her forgetting about me! If his friends could only see this love...hehehe!

Daddy's home! I get a kiss and she gets held and rubbed...jeez!

Bedtime excitement as she awaits mom to join them.

Can we say SPOILED!

Nikki is a Maltese and she gets groomed normally every 4 months but the new groomer made her look like a rat. This is how she looked before the haircut so I guess the "mountain groomer" had never cut a Maltese. Nikki was very sad and could use some Thursday love. ;)

My parents had a Maltese. Sweetest dog EVER! (And I love my own dogs like crazy, so that is saying something!) Happy LT!

Nikki is adorable, new do and all. Much as I love our little hardbody, Tanner, Nikki just steals my heart. I have to get up there again just to cuddle the little gal.

Easter at Barb's???? How cool is that? Prepare for a mountain of delicious food.

Nikki is adorable - give her some hugs from me. No wonder Dave fell for her too! She is sweetie. Those are great photographs.

Have a wonderful Easter holiday. I hope your flowers survived!

Who could resist falling in love with her?

I can't stop laughing...same story in our home. A yorkie and her man.
I often find myself walking pass the two of them singing
" You ain't women enough to take my man.."
Love it..

Oh, I think she's adorable, even with the haircut! Ours once got completely shaved by a groomer - it was awful!!

And yes, it's the same story at our house with Jim and Molly. She is such a lover, and a Daddy's girl on top of that. Makes me wonder what a real girl has to do to get some affection around here :)

You should see the four of us trying to share/squeeze our bodies into... a queen sized bed.
Your little girl is beyond precious. I know when I meet her, it will be instant love.
Those pics of Dave and Nik are wonderful!
Love you,
PS Another interview today!!

When I was thirteen the one thing I wanted in the whole world was a Maltese!! We lived on a farm and my mother thought I was ridiculous, plus it was way too expensive. Now, I am more like your husband and tend to love those working dogs.

That is too damn cute. Better quit posting pics of Topless Dave here....all the girls will get jealous:)

Cute dog... I had a Nikki also. She looks so sad in the last picture. JEJ took over the grooming at our house. We could never find one that did "springer cuts" either.

my inlaws have a maltese and she runs that house. She's allowed to eat at the table on her chair, she has her own special room, and she even got her own easter present and she got a soft biscuit with a candle for her birthday. It's hilarious to watch cuz before all the kids moved out, dogs were dogs and that was final. Now Munch has won them over and she's just the cutest thing. We all rolled our eyes at the dog sitting and eating diner with us but they wouldnt budge and insisted she's the sibling we don't appreciate. lol

Give Nikki a hug for me - we girls hate getting a bad haircut, lol - but she looks adorabe to me, in both the 'before and after' photos.
Now tell Dave, put Nicci down for a minute, and give you a hug too, lol
