Self Portrait Challenge - "The Body"

My grandson came by on a beautiful spring day. I had not been outside except to capture our blooms with my camera. Watching him feel the grass under his feet and seeing the joy in his face, I wanted some of that! My daughter walked me out to the grass to join him, gently setting me down on the grass. TK crawled over to me being that the grass was an unfamiliar walking ground. He toppled me over on to the deep, soft lawn and we just played. I looked up into the blue sky and just breathed. Looking at the pictures of our hands reminds me of the healing power of love and youth. I was a kid again bursting with joy!

It isn't warm enough here to go barefoot in the grass. Such fun! If I were you I'd frame those hands as a keepsake.

I love both pics, but especially the one of your hands together. And what beautiful hands you have! I love my own hands, for what they can do, but not because of how they look! For they are now, clearly, quite old...no so yours, my dear. :)

Oh, and the name of that poem is simply Hope is the Thing With Feathers.

Tammy,

Your journal is one of those that seem to touch me most deeply. It's the way you choose just the right song....or post the perfect photos...or write the touching words. Or perhaps all three.
Those pics are very special...the experience that you had is even more special. I'm so glad that you have all this love in your life, and that you take hold of it tightly.

Much love,
Nancy

Tammy, the pictures are just beautiful, so warm, so full of love.

A spring day and a childs hands, all new and full of hope.

Kids can sure do that to you, mine do it everyday. There's no wonder or amazement greater than through a child's eyes. I can't wait to come play on your grass next week!

Hugs,
Jolene

Oh wow! I want to go fall on the grass now, too and roll around! But I don't have an adorable little toddler here to do that with... what joyful moments are captured here, Tammy. Your hands intertwined - that one should be made into a poster, it is so precious.
Hope spring brings you many more joyful moments! xoxo

You always drink that half full glass of honey wine and enjoy every last drop! We need more people like you in the world.

Your post brought back memories of the day my uncles girlfriend-for-the-day and her two daughters went with me to my aunts house... she had a HUGE hill and we laid down on the grass and rolled down it... SO FUN!!!!

TK is so cute... he makes my biological clock louder. LOL

Thanks for the fun post... it made a stormy icky day (well, as icky as a stormy day can be, to a gal who LOVES thunderstorms) ever-so-much brighter! :o)
